My Story
I grew up in Chicago with an aptitude for drawing and painting. This led to my Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art and Graphic Design from Eastern Illinois University. After college, my husband and I moved to Indianapolis where I've worked for various small businesses on in-house design teams as well as freelance design for several non-profits.
For the past decade, I brought my skills to Marigold Clothing, an upscale boutique in Indianapolis. As their Marketing Manager, I was responsible for promotions across all channels to increase customer satisfaction and revenue. Highlights from my time there include refreshing their branding and advertising design, elevating their photography, redesigning their website in WordPress and launching an ecommerce site on Shopify.
Recently I went back to school through CareerFoundry to update my tech skills and certifications, studying the best practices of User Interface and User Experience design for websites and mobile apps. I gained hands-on knowledge in Front-End Development learning how to build this responsive portfolio site using HTML, CSS, Javascript and jQuery. These skills will help me collaborate with developers and coordinate cross-team projects.
