Overview: Freelance Design Project for Love, Broad Ripple, creating a Brand Guideline for a new non-profit neighborhood merchant assocation in Indianapolis.

about:

Love, Broad Ripple is a grassroots 501(c)(6) foundation created in January 2023 and comprised of Broad Ripple Village businesses and volunteers coming together to support the area merchants.

Love, Broad Ripple is an off-shoot of the existing neighborhood group Broad Ripple Village Association, formed to supplement the BRVA's marketing, help promote the Village and plan more events that bring visitors to the neighborhood.

icon:

A simplified logo icon combines the neighborhood initials 'BR' with a map location marker and hand-sketched heart (to tie back into the Love font).

This alternate logo can be utilized on various promotional materials such as t-shirts, a mobile app icon, maps of the Village and more.

colors:

The Broad Ripple Village Association's existing color pallete was utilized to promote a shared neighborhood identity between the two groups.

The brush font Hello August was chosen to deliver a distinct and artistic vibe which the community is known for.

fundraising campaigns:

The first fundraising campaign, 'Village Vibes,' was launched in March 2023 and is currently ongoing, introducing special merchandise, food, and drink that promote the neighborhood.

The Village Vibes logo is inspired by the area's long historic pathways converging together (the main avenue, canal path, bridges and bike trail), with a retro rainbow look that says Broad Ripple is still a fun and welcoming cultural destination.

Patrons can come to the area to purchase various Village Vibes product from select merchants (such as candles, popcorn, tshirts and beer), with proceeds donated to the foundation.
